Académie du spectacle équestre

Created in 2003 by Bartabas within the Royal Stables of the Château de Versailles, the Académie du Spectacle Equestre [Equestrian Arts Academy] is the only corps de ballet of its kind in the world.

The originality of this equestrian arts academy lies in the combination of Haute Ecole dressage and other disciplines such as fencing, dance, singing and Kyudo.
Riders therefore gain a true artistic sensibility enabling them to develop their own repertoire, as reflected in the show “La Voie de l'Ecuyer”, and perform in original creations in unusual places.

The Académie du Spectacle Equestre, housed in the Museum and National Estate of Versailles, is funded by Regional Cultural Affairs Department for the Ile de France region– The French Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Yvelines department council, the Ile de France council and the town of Versailles.
