The Fort d'Aubervilliers

The Théâtre Equestre Zingaro set up home at the Fort d'Aubervilliers in 1989. In more than 20 years, a theatre, restaurant, stables, horse ring and accommodation have seen the light on this strange plot of land caught up between the fort and the Avenue Jean Jaures.

This venue is multi-purpose and is in turn a place for creating, rehearsing and living.
The theatre designed by Patrick Bouchain is a wooden building. One of the first requests for the building was to give the spectator the feeling of immediately entering the show. Thus, the place is like a cathedral, a market, a workshop, a barn, in light wood, designed both according to the show’s staging and the spectators’ perambulation.

Forty men and as many horses in the Zingaro adventure have chosen to live next to the theatre.
Caravans, trucks and cabins stand side by side and form, with the theatre and the restaurant, a harmonious whole that gives our visitors the feeling of having escaped elsewhere for a few hours, even though just located on the outskirts of Paris.
